Culture and Skills Future Proofing

A huge focus of the BID is on supporting its cultural organisations but, even more so in this current climate – skills, job creation and youth development within the industry.

The BID has the pleasure of helping sponsor Whitechapel Gallery’s youth programme. The programme we support is called Duchamp and Sons – you can read more about it here.

Additionally, we have supported the creation of 2 Sculpture in the City pieces for Aldgate Square for 2021 and 2022. The artworks have had community voices integrated through a series of workshops involving making, conversations and storytelling. The selected up and coming artists have picked up on thematic ideas around connections with the urban environment, nature and history and religion. The sculptures will be installed in Aldgate Square and renewed each year.
