As part of the Aldgate ‘Public Realm Vision and Strategy’, Aldgate Connect are looking to activate the archway that connects Vine Street and the Crescent. The ‘Gateway to Aldgate’ character area consists of seven railway arches underneath the railway line into Fenchurch Street Station. The Vine Street/Crescent Gateway improvements will be a pilot project for Aldgate Connect, with a long-term intention of improving all seven arches. The project’s aim is to create a gateway with distinctive character and identity, celebrating its historic legacy and re-connecting the area with Aldgate, Tower of London, and the River Thames.

The session, led by placemaking specialists PJA, lighting specialists Studio Dekka and wayfinding specialists Maynard Design, will start with a walkabout to explore the study area, its history and heritage. It will be followed by an interactive co-design workshop where you will be able to shape the future of the Vine Street Gateway.

The walkabout will start at Senzo, 35 Vine St, London EC3N 2PX.
