Stories of Aldgate

Aldgate Connect BID are pleased to share that the Stories of Aldgate Exhibition will now be displayed until 28th October 2025, in collaboration with the City of London Corporation, to support the public consultation for the Fenchurch Street Area Healthy Streets Plan. Details of the ‘Vine Street, America Street, Crescent and Hammett Street’ Section of the plan are now being displayed alongside the exhibition.

Through powerful spoken storytelling, Stories of Aldgate is an audio-visual exhibition that explores themes of migration, community, and transformation – told in the storytellers’ own words. The project celebrates the rich history and vibrant community of Aldgate.

Aldgate is more than a place – it’s where lives unfold, connections are made, and histories are shaped. Whoever you are, whatever you’re doing, wherever you’re going, there’s space and a place for you here.

The City of London Corporation are producing a Healthy Streets Plan to provide a framework for improvements to the streets and spaces in the area between Fenchurch Street and Lower Thames Street. Delivering the Healthy Streets Plan will make streets more accessible, engaging and safer places for people to walk, wheel, cycle and spend time. Whilst redesigning streets will give more space and priority to people walking, wheeling and cycling.

This is an early consultation to develop the plan, as the City of London would like to understand your level of support for these ideas.
