Following our partnership with Huq, a footfall and spend reporting platform, we’re excited to now be able to share Quarterly Reports for the Aldgate area.

These Quarterly Reports includes information on footfall, including average daily, weekly, weekday and weekend footfall, as well as dwell time, demographics, density, spend and much more. In addition to this, the report also includes individual reports for each month within the quarter.

Below is an executive summary of the Q2 report – for more information, and to view the full report, please use the link below the summary:

Visitor Volumes & Profiles
Aldgate recorded over 14.1 million visitors in Q2 2025, with an average of 1.09 million per week – well ahead of 2024. Weekday activity rose strongly, averaging 173k daily visits, while weekends held steady above 112k. On an annual basis, footfall exceeded 59 million visits, demonstrating continued momentum. Engagement is strongest midweek, and the 30-44 age group remains the most active, outperforming both London and national averages.

Catchment, Dwell Time & Spending
Visitors from across London now make up almost 68% of trips, with steady growth of 1.2% year-on-year, alongside consistent gains from Essex, Hertfordshire, and other counties. Average dwell time reached an impressive 153 minutes in Q2 2025, building on Q1 and well above last year’s seasonal benchmark. Day-part data highlights robust lunchtime and afternoon activity, while spending power continues to track closely with national and London averages.

Geo-Insights & Spend Index
Spending patterns remain healthy, supported by Mastercard Geo Insights, which show resilient transaction volumes and frequency. International visitors maintain higher spend levels, reinforcing Aldgate’s strong draw as a global destination. Retail categories such as apparel and eating places both perform ahead of the UK baseline, underlining Aldgate’s role as a hub for shopping and leisure activity.
