Aldgate Connect BID is excited to invite you to explore Stories of Aldgate, a free exhibition celebrating the rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse community that make Aldgate such an iconic corner of London.
Running from June to August, this audio-visual exhibition takes place across Vine Street in Aldgate (EC3N 2PX), and aims to capture the voices and lived experiences of those who live, work and study across Aldgate. Explore the exhibition in your own time and scan the QR Codes under each storyteller to hear their stories.
Through a fascinating collection of portrait photographs, personal stories, and creative displays, the exhibition brings to life Aldgate’s past and present. Exploring themes of migration, community, and transformation – told in the storyteller’s own words.
But that’s not all — we’ll also be running a series of guided walking tours throughout the exhibition. These tours will offer a unique opportunity to discover the history that made Aldgate what it is today – more details coming soon.
This exhibition supports our Aldgate Connect Public Realm Vision & Strategy, our ambitious blueprint for placemaking in the area, in taking the first step to making a meaningful, positive impact on the area of Vine Street.

We’re thrilled to share the stories from a range of wonderful storytellers, showing that Aldgate is more than just a place, it’s community full of inspiring and fascinating people.
