Aldgate Connect BID is supporting Toynbee Hall with funding to add capacity to their essential and well-used advice service for residents and workers living in the Aldgate area.

The covid-19 pandemic has been followed by a huge crises impacting many people’s ability to meet their basic costs of living. Toynbee Hall’s suite of advice services offers free impartial advice on welfare benefits – through which they can directly help people access all the income they are entitled to; whilst also acting as a gateway to a much wider range of advice, that Toynbee Hall or others provide. This includes debt advice, legal advice, help with housing and employment issues and support with a wide range of challenges faced by people in the local area.

Toynbee Hall want to offer the best outcomes for local people based on the resources they have, therefore the BID’s funding is extremely valuable in helping them extend their services to those who need them. Their generalist advice team is helping people living in Tower Hamlets achieve a fairer and happier life, by ensuring they are aware of their rights and are enabled and supported to exercise those rights.

This funding has enabled Toynbee Hall to respond to local need and demand and their advise team will in turn help people live a happier and fairer life,  as they will have more disposable income resulting in less anxiety over financial matters.
