Join us for the next Aldgate Gardening Club workshop and learn the art of Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging!

Date: Thursday 23rd May
Time: 12:30 – 1:30pm
Location: TBC in Aldgate

Ikebana is a Japanese method of flower arranging that emphasises the space between flowers, and values the mindfulness that flower arranging can bring. You will be provided with a “Kenzan” flower stand, beautiful dish and a choice of branches, foliage and flowers. You will also learn about the principles of Ikebana as well as its rich history in Japanese culture. You’ll then follow a detailed set of instructions and measurements based on a popular arrangement method from the “Sogetsu” school of Ikebana, with help from a trained instructor.

Once finished, you can photograph your Ikebana in front of a backdrop that we provide, and your flowers will be wrapped to take home. The instructor will advise on how to care for the flowers and how to re-create your own Ikebana at home.
