‘Art is Freedom’ Exhibition – Supporting Awareness of Modern-Day Slavery

Aldgate Connect BID is proud to partner with Hestia to bring the Art is Freedom Exhibition to Aldgate, showcasing powerful art and photography created by survivors of Modern-Day Slavery.

An estimated 50 million people worldwide are living in modern-day slavery. This year’s theme ‘Seen and Heard’ highlights the voices and stories of survivor artists, raising awareness of modern-day slavery in our communities.

In 2023/24, Hestia supported over 2,800 survivors of modern-day slavery through their recovery from the trauma of exploitation.

This exhibition will run from the 6th October – 13th October in Aldgate Square and will then move to Cheapside from 13th-27th October.

“Educating ourselves on modern slavery issues isn’t just about awareness building, it is about awakening responsibility. When we learn, we begin to see, and when we see, we begin to act for good.

“Which is why exhibitions like this are vital in bringing these initiatives to the forefront and shining a light on the important work done by Hestia.
