And the Petticoat Lane Heritage Trail is... live! And the Petticoat Lane Heritage Trail is... live!

Since 2022, @towerhamletsnow, @london.historic.buildings, @historicengland and @wemakegood have been working together on a project to celebrate the unique history and character of @petticoatlane_ldn. Last month, they installed the final touches.

After much community consultation, they settled on 10 distinct themes that characterise the area through the ages, and put in place permanent plaques that lead a trail through the Wentworth Street Conservation Area (AKA the best treasure hunt we’ve ever undertaken 😉). You can find a map of these plaques outside @toynbeehall, but we aren’t telling you any more than that. You’ll have to check it out yourself to uncover the Lane’s long and fabled history.

We hope you’ve been honing your padel table tenn We hope you’ve been honing your padel table tennis skills over the summer with our nifty Sports Fest court, part of @londonsportsfestival 🏓.

In case you've forgotten, here are the three game rules you don't want to miss:

1. If all players are ready, then anyone can serve – there’s no taking turns here
2. The ball can bounce any number of times on the walls, but bouncing on the floor isn’t allowed
3. You can get bonus points 🤫 If your opponent misses the table, but you keep playing from a floor bounce and win the rally, you get two points.

And remember – we’ve partnered with @centrallondonalliance to give our Aldgate businesses and residents 50% off with the code AC50 at checkout. Head to our link in bio to book

Sorry, we're busy on 20 September – we'll be exp Sorry, we're busy on 20 September – we'll be exploring Coopers Hall.

As part of @opencity_uk's Open House Festival, Coopers Hall at 13 @dsq_london will be opening its doors for a look inside this stunning 17th-century, timber-framed merchant's house. Since 1957, this building has been a livery hall, home to the Worshipful Company of Coopers. And what is coopering, you ask? It's the making and repairing of casks and barrels, of course.

The Company has been regulating the coopering trade through Acts of Parliament since at least as early as the 11th Century, overseeing the gauging of casks and other coopered vessels and controlling foreign traders. They have a fascinating collection of artefacts to explore. That is, if you don't get too distracted by the stunning interiors 😉

Visit the Open House Festival website to find out more about this once-a-year sneak peek.
