City Proclamation – Saturday 10th September 2022

Published:

A Proclamation will be held at The Royal Exchange tomorrow, Saturday 10th September, and will commence at 1200hrs. This is a ceremony stating the name and identity of the heir who will succeed HM The Queen. The public are welcome to watch the ceremony from designated viewing areas, but are urged to arrive early.

There will be road closures for vehicular traffic implemented from around 0700hrs which will involve a sizeable footprint around the Bank Junction. This will extend:-

  • as far south as the smaller streets running south to the junction with Cannon Street (which itself remains open);
  • as far north as London Wall (which also remains open);
  • as far east as Bishospgate and Gracechurch Street (which both remain open);
  • and as far west as King Street.

A section of the Royal Exchange itself will be closed to pedestrians and the larger area as attached will be closed to vehicular traffic.
