Sorry for the all-caps. We’re just so excited. In two weeks, Aldgate Sounds will be BACK with another amazing (free) programme of mini-concerts taking place throughout the area.

We’ll be providing the soundtrack to your Tuesdays and Thursdays with live performances from up-and-coming local artists across different genres. Check out who’s playing, when and where at our #linkinbio

And in the meantime, to get you in the mood, we’re throwing it back to one of last year’s highlights 🎷🎸🥁

Hope to see you there!

The only festival on our radar this summer is one The only festival on our radar this summer is one so special, it’s taken over a century to put together… Backyard Biennial: East.

This free eight-week summer arts festival is being held to celebrate 125 years since @whitechapelgallery was opened in the hope of presenting “the finest art of the world for the people of the East End, London”. All these years later and with names like Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and David Hockney on their books, we’d say they’ve achieved their goal.

Their event programme runs until 6 September and is full of free events, activities, exhibitions, screenings, talks and more. Visit Whitechapel Gallery’s website to find out more.

On International Self-Care Day, we’re making wellb On International Self-Care Day, we’re making wellbeing a priority, taking time to recharge away from the hustle and bustle of the City. Fancy joining us? Here are some easy ways you can keep stress to a minimum:

Take a breather from your screens. Stepping away even momentarily can clear your mind.

Go outside and get moving. Just five minutes of fresh air helps boost endorphins to improve your mood, regulate your breathing and expel any excess energy and adrenaline.

Stay connected to your loved ones with a quick chat, a DMC or an IRL catch up.

Prioritise downtime, because self-care isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes just switching off is enough.

Do something you enjoy.

And don’t forget to breathe... mindfully. Try the box-method, breathing in for eight seconds, holding for six, breathing out for eight seconds and holding again for six. By breathing with intention, you can regulate your heart rate and help to calm your nervous system.

Whatever makes you feel good, take a moment to do it for yourself today. You deserve it.
