As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Food for Aldgate, Aldgate’s local foodbank, are looking to help those facing the cost of living pressures and food poverty with a ‘Month of Donations’! As part of the activity, we are encouraging everyone to donate 30 different kinds of items to celebrate the 30 days of Ramadan and to help those most in need in our community.

Donate to Food for Aldgate every Friday, from 10:30am-3:30pm, over the month of Ramadan (10th March – 9th April). Suggested donations include:

  • Friday 15th March – Gram (Chickpea) flour, tinned vegetables, dates, chopped tomatoes, butter beans, bay leaves/cinnamon sticks & toothpaste
  • Friday 22nd March – Plain flour, Sugar, Raisins/sultanas, cereal, coffee/tea, powdered milk, baby wipes & nappies
  • Friday 29th March – Lentils, tomato purée, tinned mango pulp, ground spices, jam, shampoo & laundry tablets
  • Friday 5th April – Rice, cooking salt, tinned fruit, sunflower oil, tinned fish, tinned chickpeas, deodorant & washing up liquid

Please note that these are only suggestions, and that all donations are welcome every week!
