Free Aldgate Mental Health First Aid Course

Aldgate Connect BID is bringing you another FREE 2-day Mental Health First Aid Course.

Date: Friday 23rd and Friday 30th January 2026, 9:00am-5:00pm (on both days), with a break for lunch included.

Led by Mental Health First Aid England, the course is internationally recognised and will qualify delegates as a certified Mental Health First Aider.

The training comprises a 4-part modular course, giving delegates the skills to spot the signs of low mental health and support individuals in the workplace. Topics include anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicide, substance misuse, psychosis, self-harm, and eating disorders. Please be mindful of your personal trigger points when signing up to the course – always put your own mental wellbeing first.

Learning outcomes include:

• An in-depth understanding of mental health, common mental illnesses and disorders.
• Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
• A complete understanding of the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE) to support someone experiencing poor mental health.
• Enhanced interpersonal and active listening skills.
• Knowledge to help someone recover their health by signposting and guiding them to further support.

Please note that attendance on both Friday 23rd and Friday 30th January 9:00am-5:00pm is required to become a certified Mental Health First Aider.

This course is delivered in English, so a good understanding of the English language is required.

The course is free for those who sign up via the Aldgate Connect BID link above, and are based within the Aldgate BID Area – however, please be aware that the course is valued at £255 per person, so before booking please ensure you are able to attend both days.

The course will be delivered by Mental Health First Aid England, an organisation with almost two decades of experience working with over 20,000 businesses and organisations. They are responsible for training over one million people in mental health knowledge, awareness, and skills, including nearly 800,000 MHFAiders® in England.
