Aldgate Connect BID is proud to bring this Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training opportunity to our business community, in partnership with Bridge Watch.

Date: Tuesday 24th March
Time: 9.00am – 11.00am
Location: Online (Zoom)

The City of London Corporation is committed to reducing the tragic and avoidable loss of life through local suicide prevention measures. In support of these aims, we have partnered with Bridge Watch to offer a Suicide Awareness and Prevention session – taking place online on Tuesday 24th March – which will help provide the tools to start difficult conversations in a careful and sensitive way.

This short, interactive and practical City-specific Suicide Awareness and Prevention session is delivered by Samaritans volunteers, in collaboration with the City’s Suicide Prevention Lead from Public Health. It is aimed at anyone working in a City organisation, particularly those with responsibility for HR, facilities or security.

Making sure that those who need support can access it in a timely manner is crucial to managing common mental health issues before they become more severe. The skills learnt in this session will help you to identify and assist those in crisis.

Aside from supporting crisis awareness training, Bridge Watch provide volunteering opportunities to help identify and support those who are at risk of self-harm and suicide by listening, understanding, talking, and working with a team to provide the necessary support to help them.

Speakers:
Alison Hooper, London Samaritans
Steph Peckham, London Samaritans
David Waugh, London Samaritans
Claire Giraud, City of London Corporation and London Borough of Hackney Public Health Team

The session will be delivered online via Zoom.
