National Food Bank Awareness Day 2026

Published:

Date: Friday 4th September
Location: East End Homes, 3 Resolution Plaza, London E1 6PS

Join us as we mark National Food Bank Awareness Day, by supporting Food for Aldgate.

Food for Aldgate is an organisation that supports those facing the cost-of-living pressures and food poverty across Aldgate.

The food bank accepts donations every Friday between 10.30am-3.30pm, and as part of this day of awareness, we are encouraging everyone to donate and help those most in need in our community.

An example of the kinds of items needed are as follows:

  • Dry lentils
  • Canned goods, such as fruit and chickpeas
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Dry fruit (raisins, apricots, etc)
  • Tea bags
  • Cooking salt
  • Nappies for babies/young children

As you will see, this is a mix of household goods and consumables. Please note that these are only suggestions and all donations are welcome every week!

Beyond National Food Bank Awareness Day, you can drop off donations for Food for Aldgate every Friday, between 10:30am – 3:30pm. Please bring items to 3 Resolution Plaza, London E1 6PS.

If you’re unable to deliver your donation, Aldgate Connect BID can assist you with this, please email info@aldgateconnect.london for support.
