Aldgate Connect BID are delighted to bring another 2-day Mental Health First Aid training course to Aldgate, which qualified participating members of Aldgate’s business community as certified Mental Health First Aiders.

The course provided participants with the vital skills to spot the signs of low mental health and support individuals in the workplace, with topics covered including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, suicide, substance misuse, psychosis, self-harm, and eating disorders.

The newly certified MHFAiders gained:

  • An in-depth understanding of mental health, common mental illnesses and disorders
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • A complete understanding of the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE) to support someone experiencing poor mental health
  • Enhanced interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by signposting and guiding them to further support

The course was delivered by a qualified MHFA England® trainer from Charlotte Wiseman Leadership and Wellbeing Consultants. A big thank you to Canopy by Hilton London City Hotel for hosting the session.
We are planning on delivering more key skills training sessions to Aldgate’s businesses across the upcoming year. Sign up to our newsletter to receive first notice of upcoming training, as well as local news and events updates: https://aldgateconnect.london/newsletter/
