@dsq_london have recently welcomed ‘PASSENGERS’ to their newly reopened DSQube.

Featuring photography, paintings, sculpture and immersive AI, the show is inspired by Devonshire Square’s architecture and ethos of communal spaces. It explores the theme of space, both liminal and internal, with pieces that focus on the human desire to transcend boundaries and transform our surroundings.

This group exhibition, brought together by @parallellondon, also serves as the launch event for ‘ARCADE’ – a contemporary artist fair that opens in June 2026, and where 20% of all proceeds will go towards organisations providing positive social and environmental impact.

To complement the exhibition, @parallellondon are also hosting an exciting lineup of artist-led talks and activities, so swing past to catch the show and see what else is on.

📍 10 Devonshire Square, Unit 4

Wait a minute, are we in 1895? The @bishopsgateins Wait a minute, are we in 1895? The @bishopsgateinstitute hasn’t changed at all 😅

Architect Charles Townsend (or should we use his pseudonym, ‘Arts and Letters’) was recruited to curate designs for this landlocked site, where once stood an imposing Roman gate to the City. Embracing the Arts and Crafts movement, he incorporated their ideals of ornate decoration into his work, with glorious mosaics and tiling. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that the building’s grand arched entrance is reminiscent of the Roman gate itself?

And you’d be right to think ‘wow, doesn’t this beauty remind me of @whitechapelgallery ?’, because Townsend left both architectural legacies here in Aldgate! So next time you fancy a dose of culture, pause outside for a moment of cream-bricked appreciation first.
