Summer in the City: Aldgate Edition | Across Summer
Discover live music, dance evenings, sports screenings, football installations, summer art festivals and more in Aldgate this summer.

Panna Football | All Month
Get involved with the world’s football fever by booking a game of Panna Football at the Crescent for a fantastic 1v1 kickabout. Delivered by Central London Alliance as part of London Sports Festival and supported by Aldgate Connect and Blue Orchid Hospitality, it’s the ultimate way to hone your skills and have some fun. 

DSQ Diversity & Inclusion Festival | 1 July
Devonshire Square’s annual Diversity & Inclusion Festival launches today, and we’re delighted to be a partner of this vibrant evening of dance, music and multicultural entertainment. Taking place from 5.30-8pm, the event is free, but registration is required.

Petticoat Lane Pocket Park | 2 & 3 July
As the month-long London Festival of Architecture draws to a close, we’ll be hosting our final events from this programme – a third uplifting lunchtime mini-concert with an incredible Colombian Folk Trio on 2 July, and a free community knitting workshop on 3 July. Both events are free and open to all.

Isabelle Glinn on Ice | 3 & 24 July
Have a laugh with this surreal, whimsical and totally ridiculous solo comedy show of song, dance and… ice? The Bell is hosting Isabelle Glinn’s Edinburgh preview shows, with two evenings of what reviewers are calling “charm-personified” clowning and “phenomenal” creativity. 

Civil Society Pathways Fair: Building A Brighter Community | 7 July

Tanabata Festival | 7 July
Discover the legend of the Tanabata Festival with the Dear Asia Centre. Write down your wishes, offer them up to the stars and create your own traditional Star Festival wind chime, all while snacking on Japanese-inspired delicacies. 

Sundown Suppers | 7 July
For the next event in The Culpeper’s Sundown Supper series, they’re inviting the talented chefs from Bristol’s Sonny Stores over to whip up an impeccable four-course feast, available for one night only. Chefs Pegs and Cai will be serving up a storm with Mediterranean flair – think fresh pastas and bright, juicy southern European flavours. 

Backyard Biennial: East | 15 July
Everyone’s welcome to Whitechapel Gallery’s eight-week, free, summer arts festival of exhibitions, installations, screenings and more. We’re proud to be supporting this celebration of the unique historic, cultural and creative identity of the East End, and we hope you’ll join us.

DSQ Outdoor Cinema | until 17 July
The Nuveen Big Screen will be up and running at Devonshire Square until 17 July. There’s something for everyone to enjoy in the Central Courtyard, including a stocked pop-up bar and deckchairs for the ultimate chill in the sun. It’s free to attend. 

Alpona Painting Workshops | 18 July
Embrace South Asian Heritage Month with Trapped in Zone One’s creative painting workshop. They’ll be exploring the Bengali Alpona artform at Whitechapel Gallery, painting floral designs onto fabric to create a group artwork celebrating connection, community and heritage. 

‘Stitch it, Wear it’ Embroidery Workshop | 26 July
Turn any item of clothing into something fabulous with Sip & Sew at the Chamberlain Hotel. Learn simple stitches, applique techniques and designs with all materials provided in this beginner-friendly workshop. No experience necessary, just creativity and a sense of fun.
