Summer in the City: Aldgate Edition | Across Summer
Discover live music, dance evenings, sports screenings, football installations, summer art festivals and more in Aldgate this summer.
Aldgate Sounds | Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 August
Join us for free musical performances throughout August on Tuesday lunchtimes and Thursday early evenings, across your favourite open spaces in Aldgate. You’ll be treated to acts across a mix of musical genres including soul, classical, jazz and upbeat pop.

Staycation in Aldgate | Wednesday 26 – Friday 28 August
This August, Devonshire Square will transform into an urban oasis, as Staycation in Aldgate invites local workers, residents and visitors to experience the City’s ultimate “wish you were here” spot.
Running over three days and completely free, the space will be reimagined as a relaxing summer retreat, encouraging people to take a break from the everyday and discover everything Aldgate has to offer.
Panna Football | Ongoing until Thursday 17 September
Fancy putting your football skills to the test post World Cup? Head to the Crescent for a fast-paced game of Panna Football and take on a friend in a 1v1 showdown. It’s a great way to sharpen your footwork while enjoying some friendly competition. Panna Football is part of London Sports Festival, a unique festival of sporting installations and activations across London, proudly brought to you by Central London Alliance, in partnership with Aldgate Connect BID and Blue Orchid Hospitality, supported by the City of London Corporation.

Whitechapel Gallery’s Backyard Biennial: East | Ongoing until 6 September
Whitechapel Gallery’s 8-week, free, summer arts festival is in collaboration with over 40 local partners and collaborators across East London. Featuring exhibitions, installations, performances, workshops, residencies, walks and special events, this first iteration of Backyard Biennial: East celebrates the unique historic, cultural and creative identity of the East End, and pays tribute to its many diverse communities and industries.
Sir Devonshire Square: Visca Hits Sportsband Live | Thursday 6 August
Head to the Sir Devonshire Square to see VHS (Visca Hits Sportsband), the undercover unpugged alter-ego of local indie band Breakfast, while they play disco funk originals and covers from 6:30pm. Catch them while you can!
Dabbers ** Social: Family Brunch Bingo** | Friday 7 August
Bring the kids down and party with Dabbers Family Bingo this summer holidays! They’ve got kids vs parents challenges, tuck shop treats and magical mocktails, plus there will be a chance to show off your best (dad) dance moves with their resident DJ spinning disco tunes. Doors open at 12:30pm with the show starting at 1:30pm.

Sky High Retro Gaming | Tuesday 25 August
REZtron invites you to an evening of Retrotainment, a Retro Gaming social at Pocket Square Skyline Bar and Terrace, located on top of the stunning new Hyatt Place London City East Hotel.
